The system codification is a working tool for the specifier used to link a system with its performance, inspection and guarantee specifications.

- a set of 3 uppercase letters called a series, indicating the working environment of the coating
- a number with 3 arab figures called a group, indicating the function of the coating depending on the nature of the surface to be coated
